CAREERS Youth Program

The CAREERS Youth Program is an out-of-school youth program, a second chance with no charge!

Jackson County youth, 16-21 years of age, will have the opportunity to participate in job readiness training classes, job shadowing in careers of interest, and work experience (paid and non-paid)

This program is targeted to youth, who have experienced  the following barriers:

  • Inability to function in a traditional academic environment
  • Discontinuation to function in a traditional academic environment
  • Discontinuation of extra-curricular services after dropping out of school
  • Deficiency in work maturity skills and basic work ethics
  • Lack of training opportunities
  • Lack of sufficient work history
  • Lack of financial resources

Key Benefits

  • Youth will receive academic and pre-employment related study based on the individualized needs as determined through the TABE and/or CASCAS tests.
  • Youth will gain competencies in workplace practice, leadership skills, and life skills.
